Cristian Mannu was born and lives in Sardinia. With his first work, Maria di Ísili (Giunti, 2016), he won the twenty-eighth Italo Calvino Prize and the first Megamark Foundation Prize. He was also a finalist for the Berto Prize, the Dessì Prize, and the 2016 Opera Prima Prize. His novel Ritratto di donna will be published by Mondadori in 2022.
