The history of the library

The Pabillonis Municipal Library was founded in 1970 and since 2003 has been housed in the community center (formerly a parish nursery school), where social and educational services for children are offered. Surrounded by a green garden dominated by three young olive trees, it overlooks a large patio. Bright and welcoming, consisting of a single large room, it houses a colorful children's corner, two internet stations for patrons, and a comfortable reading area for newspapers and magazines. It holds approximately 14.970 volumes.

Pabillonis being known by the nickname of “sa bidda de is pingiadas”, Known for its production of pots and other terracotta artefacts that merchants sold throughout much of the island, the library has dedicated a section of books to the making and decoration of ceramics.
