E. Piga High School Library – Villacidro

The history of the library

The E. Piga High School Library is located on the ground floor, not far from the assembly hall, and occupies a single space of approximately 36 square meters. Its activities promote the circulation of information and reading education.
It has a collection of over 9.000 volumes and, in keeping with its current academic programs—Classical High School and Linguistic High School—it primarily focuses on the humanities.
Important sections are dedicated to the history and culture of Sardinia, philosophy, history, classical Greek and Latin literature, and texts in the original language.
It also features a rich collection of classics from Italian and international literature.
Ample space is given to “young adult” fiction.
Recently established are the sections dedicated to books printed in large characters, for users with reduced visual ability, and high readability to aid dyslexia.
It adheres to the Library System "Monte Linas” since 2022 and allows, through inter-system and/or inter-library loans, access to its holdings also to outsiders.

*Loan service reserved for schools. Interlibrary loan is available for outsiders.
